Shinfan Stephanie Chang is a licensed speech-language pathologist who is also a native Chinese speaker originally from Taiwan. She holds a B.S. degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Science from Purdue University and a M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Western Illinois University. She has a teaching certificate with endorsements in bilingual (Mandarin) Education and teaching Mandarin Chinese. She has taught in several Chinese schools since 1998 and has served as a speech-language pathologist in the schools since 2002. She is credentialed as an evaluator in Early Intervention (EI) and the only Mandarin-speaking EI Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois. Currently, she is in private practice providing EI and bilingual speech-language evaluation services for public schools. She served as the co-chair of the Multicultural Committee for the Illinois Speech-Language Hearing Association (ISHA) from 2010-2013.
